Cooking Steps

  1. Step1:Soak the red bean overnight. Put 400g water to boil until it can be kneaded. *For details, please refer to my previous recipe sweet red bean's favorite dessert supporting actor. But this time, you don't need to boil the red bean to collect the juice. Because the water for cooking the red bean still needs to be kept. *One more thing to note is that I didn't add sugar to the red beans I cooked this time, because there was sugar in the water behind the horseshoe cake. If you make it directly from sweet red beans, you may need to reduce sugar later.

  2. Step2:Remove the red beans and drain.

  3. Step3:The water for boiling the red bean is also used for standby. I use this to replace the water in the ingredients directly. If the water for boiling the red bean is less than 400g, add the boiled water. (you can also change to 400g clear water directly

  4. Step4:Put the lollipop in the water. Cook until the sugar melts. Let it cool for use.

  5. Step5:When the water is cool, mix half of it with horseshoe powder.

  6. Step6:Then add the remaining water. Mix well.

  7. Step7:Apply oil to the mold to prevent sticking. Lay a layer of red beans. Do not overlap the red beans.

  8. Step8:Pour in horseshoe powder as high as red bean. Steam over medium heat for 35 minutes.

  9. Step9:Until the powder becomes transparent. Continue to add red beans and horseshoe powder.

  10. Step10:In this way, each layer is red bean and horseshoe powder. Until all materials are used up, the last layer is steamed directly for 10 minutes. The red bean and horseshoe cake is finished. *There are no red beans in the last few layers. Just steam the horseshoe cake.

  11. Step11:Let it cool and cut into pieces. It can be eaten.

Cooking tips:1. Horseshoe powder is easy to sink, so it needs to be stirred evenly and steamed every time. 2. I use the boiled red bean water to mix the horseshoe powder. If I don't like it, I can use water instead. 3. When steaming the horseshoe cake, if you think there's water without solidification, it's not too big a problem. It may be caused by water vapor or the powder is not well mixed. After steaming, pour out the superfluous water on the top. As long as most of the horseshoe cake is solidified. 4.
