Mentioning lard reminds me of my hometown in the countryside when I was a child. Every new year's day, I would cook lard at home. I would take a small bench and sit beside the stove. I watched my mother cook lard with eyes. I waited for the Yellow residue after cooking lard. Eating it hot is called a fragrance. I can eat a small half bowl myself...... Mom's cooking of lard is unforgettable.
