Octopus stew is also called octopus balls. It's my personal favorite Japanese snack. Fresh octopus, pickled vegetables and onion balls, wrapped in the sauce and salad dressing, sprinkled with firewood flowers and crispy seaweed. It's full of happiness if you take one bite.
Step1:Mix the octopus baking powder (available on the market. If you can't buy it, you can use low powder + some baking powder instead), water, oil and eggs to make a batter. Pour it into a measuring cup for use. The measuring cup is mainly because it is convenient to pour batter.
Step2:Wash the octopus and put it in the water. Add some salt and ginger. Cook it slightly, remove it and cut it into small pieces for use. Chop the onion and pickle for use.
Step3:Brush the oil in the octopus pot. Pour in the right amount of batter. Then add the octopus pieces, onion and pickle
Step4:Use a bamboo stick or steel needle to turn half of the balls first, then pour in a proper amount of batter, and then turn the balls completely when the batter is not set, and stuff the stuffing that is left out into the balls
Step5:After the meatballs are shaped, bake them to golden yellow on both sides. Serve them on a plate. Squeeze in the sauce and salad dressing. Sprinkle with sliced fish and seaweed.
