It is said that Zhu Youlang, the Yongli emperor of the Southern Ming Dynasty (1623-1662 A.D.), was the grandson of Zhu Yijun, the God of the Ming Dynasty. Qing soldiers entered the pass. He became emperor in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province. He reigned for 15 years. He was chased by Qing soldiers and fled to Burma. Later, he hanged Wu Sangui back to Kunming. He was 40 years old. The burial place is unknown. This wandering and reclusive exiled emperor also has a deep relationship with Yongping braised chicken. Zhu Youlang was defeated and fled to Burma in the 15th year of Yongli (1659 A.D.) under the escort of Li Dingguo. He was on the ancient road of Bonan. The Posthouse officials stationed here also entertained the emperor in exile with Yongping braised chicken in yellow. There was a rumor among the people that emperor Yongli appreciated Yongping's braised chicken and called it the first delicacy in Central Yunnan.
